Episode I: The Phantom Menace

Released in 1999, The Phantom Menace introduces us to a young Anakin Skywalker, the future Darth Vader. The film follows Anakin as he is discovered by Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi, two Jedi Knights who believe he is the Chosen One who will bring balance to the Force. The film also introduces us to Darth Maul, a Sith Lord who is after Anakin.

Episode II: Attack of the Clones

Released in 2002, Attack of the Clones follows Anakin as he grows into a young man and trains to become a Jedi Knight. The film also introduces us to Padmé Amidala, Anakin's love interest. The film ends with the outbreak of the Clone Wars, a conflict between the Republic and the Separatists.

Episode III: Revenge of the Sith

Released in 2005, Revenge of the Sith is the final film in the prequel trilogy. The film follows Anakin as he is turned to the dark side by Darth Sidious, the Emperor. The film ends with the death of Anakin Skywalker and the rise of Darth Vader.

Episode IV: A New Hope

Released in 1977, A New Hope is the first film in the original trilogy. The film follows Luke Skywalker, a young moisture farmer who learns that he is the son of Anakin Skywalker. Luke joins the Rebel Alliance and fights against the Galactic Empire. The film ends with the destruction of the Death Star.

Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back

Released in 1980, The Empire Strikes Back is the second film in the original trilogy. The film follows Luke as he continues to train as a Jedi Knight. Luke also learns the truth about his father, Darth Vader. The film ends with Luke being defeated by Vader and losing his hand.

Episode VI: Return of the Jedi

Released in 1983, Return of the Jedi is the final film in the original trilogy. The film follows Luke as he and the Rebel Alliance launch a final assault on the Galactic Empire. The film ends with the defeat of the Emperor and the redemption of Darth Vader.
